The beginning of April was non-stop. It all started with sun, serenity, and celebration in Punta Islita, Guanacaste, Costa Rica for my sister in-law’s wedding. It was a wonderful four days full of sun, beach, pool, dancing, and more!!
We took the red-eye from LAX to Libera, Costa Rica, then a two and hour shuttle drive South to Punta Islita, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I favor taking the red-eye flights to our destinations. Ideally we get to sleep on the flight and when we arrive it gives us the day to explore. When we arrived in Costa Rica we still had an almost three hour shuttle drive to the hotel. With the last ruffly 10miles of the drive was on a dirt road. After we finally got ourselves settled into our suite and some time with everyone.
We road around the property and ended on the beach! I hadn’t road in years and it was ideal ending the ride on the beach. I wish we were able to ride longer on the beach.
Sun, serenity, and celebration are the three perfect words for each day. The food was unbelievable and I wish I could have tried everything on the menu! Breakfast and dinner had the breathtaking view of the property and the ocean. We were able to enjoy lunch by the pool and many lounge areas spread out over the lower grounds.
There were so many activities that you could sign up for that we didn’t have enough time to do even half of them. I’m terrified of heights…I have gotten better but it is something that takes a lot of prep talking to go up high. With all that I wasn’t going to let it stop me from zip-lining! I didn’t look down while whizzing over the top of the trees. Apparently it looked like I was holding my breath and I wouldn’t be surprised if I was. I do know that breathing rather shallow to stay calm.
The wedding was beautiful ocean view ceremony and a night full of dancing!
